Lois runs the Lake Edge Cafe at Lake Purumbete in the heart of the Volcanic Lakes and Plains and just a 10 minute drive from Camperdown.  It features delicious home made food with much of it home grown and always served up with a good dose of country hospitality.  The Lake Edge Cafe is a local favourite for long lunches.  Hand crocheted rugs keep you warm on the deck in winter making it a favourite of ours too!

Q1 - Best tip for foodies

My current favourite is the Vietnamese Braised Beef at the Lake Edge Cafe.  No bias.

Q2 - Best view for sunrise or sunset

The view over Lake Purumbete is stunning at sunrise or sunset (just go to the other side)

Q3 - Best place to soothe your mind

Hoses Rocks is a spot on the shore of Lake Purumbete around from the cafe where you can dip your toes in the water on a warm day

Q4 - Best tip for top fun

Rock the Clock in Camperdown in October.

Q5 - Best Summer tip

Fly spray.  We're in Dairy country here.  I love Port Campbell beach for summer.

Q6 - Best Winter tip

Snuggle up on the deck of the Lake Edge Cafe with one of my crocheted rugs

Q7 - A secret you’re willing to share

Every child or child at heart loves to see Pelicans.  There are plenty on Lake Purumbete especially around the boat ramp and boardwalks.
